Admin MCP Onboarding
HoneyGrid Admin MCP Onboarding
Section titled “HoneyGrid Admin MCP Onboarding”This guide shows operations team members how to connect HoneyGrid Admin tools to ChatGPT or Claude.
What you need
Section titled “What you need”Before you start, make sure you have:
- A HoneyGrid Admin account.
- Permission to use the Admin MCP tools you need.
- Access to ChatGPT or Claude.
- Permission to add a custom app or connector in that client.
If a setup option is unavailable, ask your ChatGPT or Claude workspace admin to enable it. If sign-in or tools are blocked, ask a HoneyGrid admin to check your Admin MCP access.
Production MCP URL
Section titled “Production MCP URL”Use this URL for both ChatGPT and Claude:
https://admin.honeygrid.ai/mcpSet up ChatGPT
Section titled “Set up ChatGPT”ChatGPT manages custom MCP servers as developer-mode apps. See OpenAI’s current ChatGPT connection guide.
-
Open ChatGPT.
-
Go to Settings → Security and login and enable Developer mode.
-
Go to Settings → Plugins, or open
https://chatgpt.com/plugins. -

-
Ask an owner to open Organization settings → Connectors.

Enter the production MCP URL:
https://admin.honeygrid.ai/mcp -
After the owner adds it, open Customize → Connectors.

Use this remote connector flow in Claude Desktop too. Do not add the production URL to claude_desktop_config.json; Claude Desktop does not connect to remote servers configured there.

Show the HoneyGrid Admin MCP audit summary. If tools appear, setup worked.
Common issues
Section titled “Common issues”| Issue | What to do |
|---|---|
| You cannot add the app or connector | Ask your ChatGPT workspace admin to allow Developer mode, or ask a Claude workspace owner to add the connector. |
| Sign-in does not open | Disconnect and reconnect the connector. |
| You see no HoneyGrid tools | Ask an admin to confirm your MCP permissions. |
| A tool says you do not have access | Ask an admin for the specific provider access you need, such as HoneyGrid Ads, Google Ads, CallRail, Meta, Stripe, or Twilio. |
| A write action is blocked | Confirm you are allowed to make changes in production. |
| A destructive production action is blocked | A separate approved user must approve the action first. |
| ChatGPT or Claude still fails after access changes | Disconnect and reconnect the connector so it gets fresh permissions. |
Safety reminder
Section titled “Safety reminder”These tools can access production admin systems. Use read-only requests unless you are intentionally making a change. Destructive production actions require separate approval.
